In 2018, the Victor Pasmore Gallery in collaboration with many others organised a concert titled TRANSIT[ion] featuring pianist Tricia Dawn Williams. During the evening the piano recital was transformed into an interdisciplinary performance featuring motion capture technology, video-art, electronic music and extended piano technique. The programme presented a portrait of the avant-garde piano that stretches almost one hundred years of repertoire. Each work broke new ground as the composer navigated through uncharted waters to depict a new profile for the instrument.
The concert was organised by Teatru Manoel, the Malta Association for Contemporary Music and the Valletta 2018 Foundation in collaboration with Central Bank of Malta, Fondazzjoni Patrimonju Malti and the Victor Pasmore Gallery as part of the cultural calendar for the Valletta 2018 European Capital of Culture.
